Sony’s New RX10 III Can Shoot Super Zoomed and Super Slow-Mo

Sony today announced the RX10 III, a compact camera with a powerful 24-600mm f/2.4-4.0 equivalent zoom lens.

The 25x super-telephoto zoom lens sits in front of a 20.1 megapixel Exmor RS CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor, the same as what’s found in the RX10 II.

On the back of the dust- and moisture-resistant camera is a 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a tilting 3-inch 1.228-million-dot LCD screen.

Other specs and features of the camera include an ISO range of 644 to 12800, 40x super slow motion at up to 960fps, 4K video recording, built-in Optical SteadyShot stabilization, a minimum focusing distance of 2.36 feet (72cm), 0.49x max magnification at 600mm, pro video features (e.g. Picture Profile, S-Log2/S-Gamut, Gamma Display Assist, Time Code, external mic, headphone monitoring), an AF speed of 0.09s, and Wi-Fi/NFC connectivity.

The new Sony RX10 III will hit store shelves in May 2016 with a price tag of $1,500.
