Want to see what it’s like to tiptoe between life and death as a war photographer? Watch Conflict, a 6-episode miniseries that provides a no-holds-barred look at photography in conflict zones. Netflix just picked up the show, but you can also watch it for free online.

Created by redfitz Films, the series was awarded Best Documentary Series at the 2016 Webby Awards.

“The world’s best conflict photographers take us behind the lens and into their lives,” the series’ description reads. “Witness their personal and professional battles to engage with, understand, handle, capture and present different forms of conflict in the hopes of making the world better.”

“Nothing brings you closer to the most important human conflicts of our time.”

You can watch the 6 episodes right here (note: there’s strong violence and nudity):

Episode 1: Pete Muller “Let Me Represent You”

Episode 2: Joao Silva “You Will Be Changed”

Episode 3: Donna Ferrato “I Am Unbeatable”

Episode 4: Nicole Tung “That’s Where War Became Personal For Me”

Episode 5: Robin Hammond “We’re All Complicit”

Episode 6: Eros Hoagland “We Fear Wolves Because We Never See Them”

“I think the public has become desensitised to what they see in the media, almost no matter how powerful it is,” filmmaker Nick Fitzhugh tells The Guardian. “One of the ways to combat that is to personalise conflict. I wanted to pull back the veil of objectivity and expose the experiences of the photographers who capture these images.”

If you’re subscribed to Netflix, you can also find and watch Conflict on the streaming service now.
