This Photographer Spent Two Years on the Streets of Paris

Photographer Ludgero Filipe recently spent two years living in Paris, shooting tourist portraits to make money while roaming the city for street photography. The 5-minute video above is a short film with some memories and some of his favorite photos from his time there.

“It wasn’t easy, but the experience I had was worth every sacrifice,” Filipe tells PetaPixel.

Filipe says he is heavily influenced by the great masters of street photography — names like Doisneau, Brassai, William Klein, and Henri Cartier-Bresson.

“Mostly, street photography is luck, which is the beauty of it, but I approach it by scouting locations that look beautiful, coming back at different times of the day to see how the lighting changes, the demographic changes and wait for something to happen.”
