Bentley Used NASA Tech to Create This 53-Gigapixel Car Photo

7

Check out this photograph of the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s no ordinary photo: Bentley calls it “the world’s most extraordinary car photograph.” Why? Because it’s a 53-gigapixel photo that you can zoom waaay into.

Here’s what it looks like when you zoom all the way in to the passenger seat of the $330,000 Bentley Mulsanne on the bridge:

Impressive, eh? Bentley created the massive photo by stitching together 70 separate photos using NASA’s panorama stitching technology — the same kind used to create panoramas of Mars shot by the Curiosity rover.

If you were to print out the 53-gigapixel photo, the print would be the size of a football field. You can zoom into the photo for yourself by visiting this interactive viewer on Bentley’s website.
