A Beginner’s Guide to Real Estate Photography

If you’ve been interested in trying your hand at real estate photography for some spare cash between assignments, this short video guide by photographer Troy Nikolic a great place to start.

Packed full of tips and basic guidelines, Troy shares his gear, setup, and post-processing advice for shooting different rooms and the house itself. It’s not a comprehensive guide and it won’t teach seasoned real estate shooters anything new, but it offers beginners a solid foundation to build upon.

Troy’s setup is pretty simple. He uses a Impact LiteTrek 4.0 monolight at 1/1 and 1/2 power (depending on the room) and shoots through a Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L with his Canon 6D set to f/11, 1/40, and ISO 100 for his base settings.

The gear and settings, of course, are just the beginning. Check out the full video up top to head a few extra tips and find out how Troy processes his images to produce professional results.
