Back in April 2016, ON1 announced Photo RAW, the first all-new RAW photo processor to emerge in a decade and one that uses crowd-sourcing for innovation. To give the world a taste of what’s coming, ON1 just put out the 3.5-minute video above with a first look at the upcoming software.
“ON1 Photo RAW is a next-generation RAW processor, designed for modern photographers,” ON1 says in the video’s description. “It’s built from the ground up for speed.”
ON1 Photo RAW has a look and feel that’s very similar to Adobe Lightroom, except it aims to offer faster workflow speeds and a wider variety of editing tools. The “lightning fast browser” doesn’t wait on importing or cataloging your photos, letting you get to work right away.
The Develop module features many of the same tools Lightroom users will be familiar with.
The Effects section lets you apply stackable filters to your photos to quickly transform various aspects.
In addition to being a standalone app in your workflow that replaces Lightroom as a photo organizer and editor, Photo RAW can also be used as a plugin inside Photoshop, Lightroom, and Apple Photos. ON1 Photo RAW will be launched in the fall of 2016 for $110 for the full version or for $80 for people upgrading from ON1 Photo 10.
