Fujifilm recently put its new GFX 50S medium format mirrorless camera in the hands of French photographer Philippe Marinig for a natural light photo shoot in Kyoto, Japan. In the 2.5-minute Fuji video above, Marinig had positive things to say about shooting handheld with the camera.
“We don’t feel medium — we feel like it’s 35mm,” Marinig says regarding the camera’s size. “In terms of size, for my hands it’s perfect.”
“It’s freedom in photography with no limitations,” he continues. “It’s like medium-size technology with a very compact camera.”
Here are a few photos Marinig shot using the GFX 50S:
Fuji has been posting videos of photographers using the GFX 50S to the camera’s microsite. Prior videos include a studio shoot and a car shoot.
According to Fuji Rumors, the GFX and a bundle lens will cost around $8,000 when it’s launched in early 2017.
