If you’re ever shooting around emus, be sure to keep your camera bag at a safe distance. Photographer Arnhem Peterson put his camera backpack on the ground while photographing goats recently, and an emu wandered over and mistook the camera bag for a suitable mate.
Emu can grow to 6.2 feet in height, weigh 150 pounds, and sprint at 30 mph, so they’re not a flightless bird you want to mess with. Peterson decided to play it safe and start filming with his camera instead, creating this video warning for other photographers (warning: there’s strong language and gross visuals).
